Located in the first level of the Teamster Building, Joint Council 32's Food Shelf assists Teamster members and their families when they are out of work, sick or on strike. With help from members of the Retirees Club and other volunteers, Food Shelf Manager Joe Kabacinski distributes food to dozens of Teamster families each month.

Teamster employers such as Supervalu and Marigold Foods donate food and personal care products to the Food Shelf, which is also generously supported by the Joint Council and Local Unions.

Local 638 routinely donates cash and many pounds of whole chickens to support the food shelf. The Teamsters Food Shelf is the only labor-run food shelf in the state of Minnesota. Teamsters and their families are eligible for our aid. In times of trouble, Teamsters help Teamsters.

Local 638 members who are not able to come to the Food Shelf because of illness or distance should contact their business agents or officers.
