About Organizing

As a worker in Minnesota, you have a very significant and powerful right at your workplace – the right to organize or join a Union. When you join a Union, especially the Teamsters, you gain a powerful, united voice that makes you heard by your employer; management will never again ignore your concerns or issues.

By organizing with the Teamsters, you will negotiate a legally, binding contract which guarantees that your working conditions cannot change without management first negotiating with you. Also, through the process of negotiating a contract, you will be able to demand fairer wages and health benefits, a pension plan, improved working conditions and a secure future that you, your family and coworkers will enjoy for years to come.

Because the Teamsters have been instrumental in obtaining respectable contracts for their members throughout the years, more and more workers are turning to the Teamsters for representation. Nationally, the Teamsters represent over 1.4 million workers. Here at Teamsters Local 638, we represent over 5000 workers at 42 different companies employed in various occupations as diverse as health care, the movie industry, warehousing, food processing and drivers. These workers know what being a member of Teamsters Local Union 638 means and what the strength of the Teamsters can do for them. So can you.

To learn more about how being a member of the Teamster can benefit you, click the contact link below. Our Organizer, Duane Butorac, will contact you and start you on the road to winning dignity, security and respect in your workplace.
